What is myTripBook?
Your personal travel diary:
myTripBook is a travel diary and forward planner that you can keep private, share with friends or have open to all- a place to keep a record of all your trips and travel experiences. You can enter trips that you have taken and ones that you are planning for the future, add photos and videos and also keep a diary for each trip. There is also a section to add recommendations from for the hidden gems that you have discovered and want to share- such as a bar, restaurant, hotel or hostel or just a particular activity.
See friends' trips and research your own travels:
By adding friends on the site, you can easily see trips that they have taken or are planning in the future- if someone is going to be in the same place at the same time as you or if one of your friends has already been somewhere that you are planning to visit- making it easy to see their experiences to help you plan your own trip. All friends' trips are presented in date order, one click away from your own travel diary. Members of the site can also browse the world map on the homepage to research each destination- who lives there, who has been there and who is planning trips there, photos, videos, trip diaries and recommendations. You can also use the site to book hotels and hostels around the world.
Share your travel diary:
myTripBook makes it easy to share the information that you put on your own travel diary on other websites. If you choose to have your travel diary open to all, you can then forward the link to friends who are not registered on the site (or you may prefer to keep your own travel diary completely private). It is also easy to add content for your trips from other sites, such as photos from Flickr.
Background:
myTripBook launched in 2007 to provide a useful service for recording, and sharing, all your travel experiences. myTripBook is based in Harrogate, a town in the north of England and was founded by James Holmes.
